Dreams of War
In a past life, my client was a 35-year-old warrior standing in hip-deep water, the sun beating down on him. He was quite a distance from shore, wearing big brown boots. He lived in a village near the water, but his home was on the outskirts, nestled in a valley on the side of a mountain, resembling a cave. Inside, a small fire kept him warm. His diet consisted of hearty meals, often a bowl of pot roast—carrots, potatoes, and mostly meat—generously given by the wife of a fellow warrior.
He was a seasoned sailor, trading rabbit pelts and excelling as a fighter, defending his village against outsiders. One fateful day, his village was attacked. He had stayed behind this time, avoiding another long and bitter journey. But as the alarm rang, he found himself in the midst of battle, fighting fiercely to protect his home and his people.
He was a killer in war, slitting throats and driving his sword into enemies, only to yank it out and move onto the next. The invaders kept pouring onto shore, and as he fought, a realization struck him—he recognized some of these men. Had their last voyage led these attackers to them? His people suffered immense loss, including their women and children. The pain of losing them weighed heavily on him, as they had always been a close-knit family who looked out for one another. Amidst the chaos, he lost his shield, leaving him exposed. Eventually, he was killed in battle.
Once the soul moves through the death process of a lifetime, it gains direct access to the wisdom of the Higher Self. When I asked my client’s Higher Self what the purpose of this past life was, it responded:
“This lifetime was meant to show her what life looks like without love, kindness, and compassion. It’s important for her to realize this now because she struggles to express these qualities toward herself. Now, she must embrace her feminine qualities. When you over-masculinize things, you forget that you can lean on your femininity to show you the way. Throughout her life, she has been forced to be masculine because the masculine has overrun her life. Every choice, thought, and action has been influenced by it, making her forget that she is a woman. A woman is built by love, guidance, trust, and intuition, and she struggles with these abilities.”
I then asked the Higher Self how she could embrace her feminine qualities in this lifetime. It advised:
“Do things that make you feel like a woman. Embrace your feelings. Be yourself, but not in such an overpowering way that you lose sight of the balance between masculine and feminine. She can dress, talk, go out, and engage in activities that help her express these qualities.”
